Consultant Gastroenterologist at Bristol Royal Infirmary (substantive) – specialist interest in education, endoscopy training (previously Trust lead) and inflammatory bowel disease Honorary Senior lecturer University of Bristol Current Faculty member: TECNA course WIMAT (Welsh Institute of Minimal Access Therapy) I have a longstanding interest in medical education, in particular in endoscopy, and helped Dr Saravanan to set up his excellent TECNA course. I have contributed to every course since its inception. I have worked with previous colleagues in Wales to devise the ‘GRS Toolkit’ which has been accepted throughout Wales as the basis for endoscopic training, in line with the JAG criteria. I contributed to the first regional training day on capsule endoscopy . With one trainee, I set up and delivered a simulation course teaching management of GI bleeding, in particular gastric varices, to regional registrars. This course won the McIntyre prize from the BSG in 2017. I have been invited by the BSG to be faculty at this years BSG meeting (Glasgow) helping to run the EndoSim hub.Websites
